-
Flat, Flat Bottom
The the lowest flat portion of a half pipe. The floor portion between the transitions.
-
Radius
the length of a line segment between the center and circumference of a circle. So for half pipes that circumference is the transition. The longer the radius, the more mellow the transition. [ still don't get it? ask a trig teacher. ]
-
pseudo-ellipse
any curve approximating an elliptical transition that is not actually an ellipse
-
CAD
Computer Aided Drafting. Any of numerous drawing programs that help you make technical drawings showing how to build something. they range from 2d line programs to 3d packages that can render photo realistic images. but all of them are geared toward generating diagrams with measurements.
-
CAD Drawings
Diagrams with measurements, that show the shape of a ramp or part of a ramp. and more importantly the measurements required to build that ramp.
-
Transition
The curved portion of a halfpipe. It transitions you from the flat bottom to the vert.
-
Coping
originally this word is "brick that is laid sideways at the top of a wall" which came to mean the lip of a pool, which then turned into anything used to make the lip of a ramp. Often, metal pipe, or PVC pipe.
