In this diagram you see that we measure down from the coping 48" along the transition. and make sure to put a pair of 2x4's on either side of that mark. This is because the first layer of plywood will be run horizontally and will need to end on a joist. all edges of the first layer of plywood need to end on a joist.

We'll cover the flat with two pieces of plywood length wise, and then cut some pieces to fit the gap from the flat bottom to our first joist.

After cutting out your template and Before framing your ramp mark where the 2x4's will go, and transfer these marks from the first template to all the other side pieces.
